Hill Update

We have had a great few weeks of snow;  making the best of winter while it was here and the hill could be open.
Unfortunately, the hill is closed for the weekend and possibly the season due to the balmy temperatures and hints of spring <ahem mud> 💐 ☀️
Thanks to our staff and volunteers for all their hard work and thanks to YOU the amazing season pass holder and the day pass superstars who came and rocked the hill these past few weeks. So fun to see everyone out having a great time!
Stay tuned for more information regarding season end!

T-Bar Tips

It has been a busy 8 days at Mount Martin with many newcomers to the hill.  For those of you still trying to get the hang of the T-Bar, here are a couple of videos with some tips.

COVID-19 Protocols

At Mount Martin, our priority is to get you safely on the slopes!

This 2020-21 winter season we all have many new considerations. We are diligently addressing new guidelines regarding the guest experience and ask that all guests acknowledge some important personal responsibilities before using our outdoor recreational facility:

FACE COVERINGS WILL BE REQUIRED INDOORS AND IN CONGESTED OUTDOOR AREAS (lift line, T-bar) WHILE AT MOUNT MARTIN. Bring face coverings that align with health unit recommendations (A mask, or neck tube that is completely covering your nose and mouth, and is hands free).  We recommend bringing a few extras for when your face covering gets wet or damp.  Please practice PHYSICAL DISTANCING.

DO NOT ENTER IF UNWELL – be self-aware about changes to your health.  Complete a provincial self-assessment before arriving at Mount Martin. Stay home if you have unexplainable COVID-19 symptoms or have reason to suspect recent COVID-19 exposure.

Dress appropriately for the weather.

Plan to USE YOUR VEHICLE as your Base Chalet (i.e. bag storage and booting up).  The chalet will be available for washroom use, brief warming up and snacking.  There is a dedicated entrance and exit for the chalet.  All households must maintain a 2m distance from each other inside the chalet.

Lift Access:  Guests are required to wear a mask in line and on the T-Bar.

Waivers/Policies must be reviewed and signed IN ADVANCE for those with Season Passes and to support this we are moving onlineHelp us minimize time spent at our ticket window. https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/60102c24ea246/web/

Consider more evening visits. Utilize opportunities to ski at less popular times.

Please be kind and respectful to your fellow skiers/boarders and Mount Martin employees.

Skiing & Snowboarding has an inherent assumption of risk; all public spaces have an inherent risk of COVID-19 exposure. By following the Personal Responsibility Code above we can work together to minimize these risks for everyone while getting fresh air and doing outdoor activities that we love!

Getting Ready For 2020 / 2021

Great news for winter enthusiasts! The Mount Martin Ski Club is planning on opening for the 2020/2021 season and volunteers are busy preparing. Knowing that many indoor sports have been put on hold this year, skiing at MMSC is one sport that can take place without the need to go into an interior space at all. Volunteers are constructing a deck outside the club that will give access to a concession window for lift pass and snack purchases. The clubhouse will have one-way access and will be divided into seating sections for a small number of people. The ski patrol has received lengthy additional training on COVID protocols and PPE use and is all set to keep those on the hill safe.

Membership purchase is being encouraged as this gives skiers the flexibility of coming for brief periods of time, multiple times a week, with never having to enter the chalet. In the event that Covid-19 prevents us from opening or the season, we will offer a refund of paid-up memberships.

We are still planning for both a ski & snowboard lesson program this year with high hopes we will be able to run.  A little extra work is going into organizing & training to ensure the safety of both students & instructors.

MMSC lessons are a 4 week session that usually start in January (snow depending) with registration starting late November/Early December. We also offer private lessons upon request.

In these uncertain times please remember that despite all the time & effort put into organizing these programs, Covid may prevent us from running them.

MMSC operates on a very slim budget but with the help of volunteers, grants and donations is hoping to make this a memorable ski season.

Stay tuned for more info.
