Ski Patrol

For its members, MMSC offers ski and snowboard lessons for Adults (19+) and Juniors (8-18), and ski lessons for Juniors (6-18) and  KinderSki (4&5).  Detailed descriptions of the lesson programs are given below. Lessons will be cancelled if hill conditions are unsafe.  Students or their guardians are expected to check for cancellation announcements that will be recorded on the Snowphone (613-584-2809).

Lessons will enhance enjoyment and increase everyone's safety on the hill.
They are highly recommended for all kinder-ski and junior members.  Adults new to the Alpine world are encouraged to register for our Tuesday evening sessions.
MMSC lesson rates for our members are set only to cover costs.

Private (one student) or semi-private (two or more students) lesson can be very beneficial for new skiiers/boarders and/or those wishing to polish up their skills.  Contact Jonathan Fitzpatrick (613-584-9387) or Bruce Smith (613-584-1345) or catch them at the hill to arrange private or semi-private lessons (available to members and non-members). Non-members must purchase a day pass to take private/semi-private lessons.

The ski school is always happy to have new people (young and old) join the team of ski and snowboard instructors. Training is provided.  Contact Bruce or Jonathan for more on becoming a ski or snowboarder instructor.

   Adult: The adult ski and snowboard lesson program will commence on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 7:00 pm..  The program, consisting of a series of lessons at MMSC plus instruction on the Away Day.  Details of the Away Day will be provided soon after lessons begin. Adult Racing League on Tuesday evenings with have an 8:00 pm start.  This is intended for all levels and promises to be a fun event with some informal racing.  Hints and coaching will be provided.  Challenge your skills while enjoying the night sky.

Adult Ski Racing League on Tuesday evenings - Come on out and give it a try!

  Juniors (6-18): Junior ski and snowboard lessons are offered on Friday evenings (age 11-18 only) and Saturdays (ski age 6-18, snowboard 8-18).  Lessons will begin Friday, January 7, 2011 and Saturday, January 8, 2011.  Children under 6 can join in the junior lesson program if they can ski and use the T-bar without assistance.  The Junior program consists of a lesson series at the MMSC hill in Deep River for students 6 years of age and older (as of December 31, 2010).  The junior lesson program includes the Away Day.  Younger children may also attend the Away Day if accompanied by an adult.  Details of the Away Day will be provided soon after lessons begin.

  KinderSki (4 & 5): We will again offer the popular KinderSki program.  Children aged 4 & 5 (as of 31 December 2010)           will receive 4 one-hour lessons at MMSC.  In this special program, there will be no more than 2 students per instructor.                  Lessons will begin  Saturday, January 8, 2011.   Note: Away Day is not part of the KinderSki lesson program.
